SUMMARY:Book Club
DESCRIPTION:Our group loved discussing Ann Patchett’s essays, and enjoyed hearing about essays other members enjoyed. We were intrigued by Ann’s essay on Eudora Welty and are inspired to read some of her short stories. Most of her stories were written in the 1940s and 1950s and take place in Welty’s home state of Mississippi.\nWe have chosen five short stories to discuss at our October meeting: “Why I Live at the PO,” “A Visit of Charity,” “Death of a Traveling Salesman,” “A Worn Path,” and “The Bride of Innisfallen.”\nThese stories are included in The Collected Stories of Eudora Welty. The stories are also on a YouTube video of the author reading the story and in The Atlantic archives from 1941, as well as in earlier collections of her stories. We hope you enjoy this reading journey!\nJoin us in person or on Zoom. Email kbericchia@gmail.com to receive the meeting link.\n
