Connect with a Group

Small groups are a great way to get to know others in our congregation and to share your hobbies and passions with others who like to do the same thing. From Dine-Out! to Music Groups to Book Club, there is something for everyone.

The Hour

Each Thursday morning at 10 am, an opportunity called The Hour awaits you via Zoom.

People from Union Avenue and the greater community gather to truly engage in discussion on social justice, society and the church, and everything in between.

“Each week is a separate and distinct topic, so there’s no problem missing a session,” Len Slack commented. “This has expanded our knowledge of social issues and gives ideas of ways to make a difference.”

Contact Len Slack at leonardgslack@gmail.com. Anyone and all perspectives are warmly invited.

Missions

Union Avenue UMC has a long-standing, ongoing tradition of not just learning about our faith but also practicing our faith—all of which is consistent with the larger United Methodist Church being a mission church. This means that there are a great variety of exciting ways for people to connect with ministries that help the poor and disenfranchised of society.

The church offers people opportunities to serve food, provide clothing, repair and build homes, tutor children, be present with others through ‘listening ears’, participate in hope and faith-based services, support holistic health services, and connect with mission projects world-wide.
